Kevin Nelson splits his time between building McCann’s Global Telecom practice and leading the strategy team for Verizon.

The McCann Telecom Practice is responsible for providing thought leadership, developing IP, running workshops and increasing collaboration across McCann’s network of agencies. Results from Kevin’s efforts include praise from CEOs and CMOs and co-authoring the groundbreaking research project, Truth About Connected You, with McCannTruth Central.

Prior to taking on these roles, Kevin led strategy for the global MasterCard, Xbox and ABSOLUT CUT brands and Bass, Rolling Rock, and Radio City Entertainment in the United States. Kevin also helped start and build TAG, a global young adult focused resource at McCann Erickson. Kevin is particularly proud that he helped massify the smartphone market in the US, bring gaming from the basement into pop culture and lead the evolution of MasterCard from a brand that observes Priceless moments into a brand that enables them.

Kevin has been featured in Advertising Age as one of “the next generation of leaders in advertising and media”, won numerous Effie and AME awards, contributed to award winning creative work and has been a speaker at events such as Advertising Week and Mobile World Congress.

When he isn’t working, Kevin spends his free time hanging out with his wife and two daughters in Brooklyn.
