Sharon Panelo is Strategy Director of McCann Always On, the social media and content strategy unit of McCann NY. She leads digital strategy for CPG brands at General Mills and was recently featured by TopRank blog as “25 Women Who Rock Social Media” in 2013. Her social good campaigns — Million Hoodies for Trayvon Martin, and #LuckyToBe (an LGBT campaign for Lucky Charms) — have been featured in the New York Times and Huffington Post and garnered multiple awards, including two Cannes Silver Lions and a Gold Andy Award. Previously, Sharon was a trends writer for JWT Intelligence and before that, a research associate at Audience Theory, informing brand strategies for Viacom/MTV, AMC Networks, and Spike TV.
